Borussia Dortmund Leave Paris St-Germain's Champions League Hopes Hanging By A Thread
Mbappé’s Last Champions League For PSG
Dortmund Win Away Leg Of Champions League Semi-Final
Paris Saint-Germain’s hopes of reaching the Champions League final hang in the balance after they lost 1-0 at home to Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their semi-final on Tuesday night.
Erling Braut Haaland scored the only goal of the game in the 69th minute, finishing off a counter-attack after PSG had been caught pushing forward in search of an opener.
The result leaves PSG with a mountain to climb in the second leg in Germany next week, and they will need to score at least twice to have any chance of reaching the final.
The defeat was a bitter blow for PSG, who had been in impressive form in the Champions League this season, winning all six of their group games and beating Real Madrid and Atalanta in the knockout stages.
But they were second best to Dortmund on Tuesday night, who were well-organised and clinical in front of goal.
The only positive for PSG was that they managed to keep a clean sheet, which means they will still be in with a chance of reaching the final if they can win the second leg 2-0.
The second leg of the semi-final will be played at the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund on Tuesday, 12th August.
